A Year in the Life.

For many years, my heart has been set on offering some sort of long form session. I wanted to tell people’s stories in a way that was more than meeting with them for one hour out of a year to capture some not-so-authentic “Pinterest-looking” photos for their Christmas cards. I have offered a “Day in the Life” type of session in the past but it was not quite hitting the mark for me. Not that there is anything wrong with spending a full 8-hour day with my clients to document their family! I actually love that and am still open to booking those.

Yet, I still wanted things a little different. A way to capture how a family changes and grows throughout an entire year. A way to capture the mundane and see it in a special light, minus all the pressure to make your one session count with a big activity or a tight schedule. Thus, an idea was formed! A Year in the Life! A way to have a session every month (or season) to completely encapsulate your family’s memories in a real, authentic and memorable fashion.

Imagine seeing your family throughout the changes that happen within a year. Think about ballet recitals, backyard gatherings, Saturday morning outings, or even trips doing the most ordinary tasks such as grocery shopping or getting the car washed. Imagine being able to romanticize laundry!

Below is a glimpse into a family’s Year in the Life session and how that could look for your family too!
